Post Planner lets you create and schedule posts in bulk using 5 different methods:
Before creating posts in bulk, make sure your Buckets and Posting Plans are set up first. Most bulk posting methods need to be added to your Buckets and queue slots to publish automatically (with the exception of the spreadsheet method).

🔀 How to switch the Composer to multiple posts
1. Open the Composer in multiple-posts mode
Click "Create Post" in the top-left corner (or go straight to the multi-post Composer). Then click the dropdown next to "Create" and switch from "single post" to "multiple posts".
🎯 How to choose where your posts go
For Step 1: "Choose post destination," every post you upload goes to the Bucket or the profiles you select, so decide the destination before you add any content.
1. Pick a Bucket, or "None" for the queue
Choose a Bucket that's assigned to the Posting Plan you want to publish from.
Or choose "None" to send the posts to the queue slots of your profiles' Posting Plan.
2. Pick your profiles
If you chose "None", open the profiles dropdown and select the profiles you want to publish to.
If you chose a Bucket, your profiles are pre-selected from that Bucket's settings. You can deselect profiles you don't want, but you can't add a profile that isn't in the Bucket (adding one flips the destination back to "None").
📥 How to add posts in bulk (5 ways)
For Step 2: "Add post content," there are 5 ways to add posts in bulk:
Way #1: Upload images, or add videos from your Library
Got a folder full of images? Drop the files onto the upload box or click "Upload images" to choose images from your device.
Each image becomes its own post.
TIP: Put every image you want to post in 1 folder on your desktop first, so you can select them all at once.
For videos, click "Or upload videos from Library". Open the Library folder that holds your videos, tick the ones you want, and click "Create posts":
TIP: Upload your video files to a Library folder ahead of time, then pull them in from there.
Way #2: Upload articles from an RSS feed
Paste the feed URL into "Enter RSS feed URL here" and click "Upload articles from feed".
Wait for the articles to load. Each one becomes a link post.
When the articles load, you can automatically add each article's title, description, URL, original caption, and credit text to its post.
TIP: To find a blog's RSS feed URL, search Google or ask an AI assistant to find it. This guide helps too: How to find a blog's RSS URL.
NOTE: The network has to support link posts to publish with a clickable link. On X, the link needs to be in the caption. On Instagram, article posts include the thumbnail and caption without a clickable link.
Way #3: Upload a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet is the fastest way to post in bulk.
Each row is 1 post, and each column is a detail of that post: the caption, the link, the image or video, a first comment, and, if you're not using a Bucket/queue, the exact date and time it publishes.
To start, click "Download sample sheet" under the spreadsheet box to get the template:
If you're using AI, feed the sample spreadsheet to an AI assistant to have it help you fill in your spreadsheet automatically.
Fill in 1 row per post. Here's what each column does:
Column | What goes in it | Rules |
POSTING TIME | Leave empty if you want to schedule to your Posting Plan's Queue or Bucket slots (as chosen in Step 1).
To schedule each post at a specific time, enter a date and time for each post's row. | Format: month/day/year hour:minute (24-hour clock)
Example: 07/04/2030 14:30 |
CAPTION | The post text. For Pinterest and YouTube, this is the description. | For X link posts, put the link in the caption. X posts only get a link preview if the URL is here. |
LINK | The web page the post shares on Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Bluesky. For Pinterest, this is the pin link. | Must not end in a media file type like .jpg or .mp4. Don't use this column for X links. |
MEDIA | The URL of the image, video, or GIF. For Pinterest, this is the pin image. | Must be a full URL that ends in the file type (.jpg, .png, .mp4, and so on) and must stay online until the post publishes. Limit: 200 media posts per file. |
TITLE | Pin title or YouTube title. | Ignored on every other network. |
FIRST COMMENT | The comment that publishes right after the post. | Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn only. |
FIRST COMMENT DELAY | How long to wait before the comment publishes, in minutes. | Any number of minutes. The comment publishes at a random time in the 10 minutes after your delay (28 means between minute 28 and 38). |
TOBI BACKGROUND | The name of the Facebook text-on-background-image background, for example "shapes". | Facebook only. Find the name by hovering over a thumbnail in the Composer's "Choose Background" picker. Needs the Growth plan or higher. |
REEL OR STORY | Type "reel" or "story" to publish the media as a Reel or Story. | Facebook and Instagram only. |
IMPORTANT: Do NOT delete the instruction rows at the top of the sheet, and do NOT delete or reorder any column. If you do, the upload imports the caption and nothing else, or reports the right number of posts and then creates none. The example rows under the instructions are the only rows you should replace.
WARNING: If you want a Bucket or Queue slot to be the destination, leave the POSTING TIME column blank. If you select a Bucket and try to add rows with specific times, those posts will fail, and you'll see a "Some posts were not created" notification. You'll have to click "download failed posts" to see which rows.
When the sheet is ready, click "Upload spreadsheet" and pick your file. Your file can be in either .xlsx or .csv format. Every row turns into a post.
3 TIPS to make this powerful:
Host your media in your Library. Tick the files, click "Bulk actions", then "Download links of selected", and paste the links into the MEDIA column.
Use Claude or ChatGPT to fill in the sheet for you.
Create a separate spreadsheet for each Bucket to keep your Posting Plan organized.
Way #4: Add content from other feeds
Want to share proven posts from your industry? Click "Or add content from other feeds". This takes you to the Content tab.
Open any Stream, feed, or source, and tick the checkbox on each post or piece of content you want. Then click "Create posts" to send them to your Composer.
TIP: New to Streams? See How do I create and leverage content Streams?
Way #5: Add images from your Chrome browser
With the Post Planner for Social Media extension for Chrome, you can add images from the web directly to your composer.
This works on Google Images, article images, YouTube thumbnails, X images and MUCH more.
Here's how it works:
Give it permission, and make sure it's switched on and pinned.
Hover over any image on the web and click the checkbox in the top left of each image.
Once you've added every image, click "Create posts" to add them to your Composer.
✏️ How to fine-tune all your posts at once
For Step 3: "Customize post by network," you can add captions, comments, adjust post settings, change the posting order, and turn on recycling for each post.
This screen looks a little different depending on which way you used to add content.
1. Reorder or remove posts
Change the order of your posts or remove any you don’t want to include:
Drag and drop a post to move it into a new position.
Use the arrows to move it up or down in the order.
Click the X to delete a post you don’t want.
2. Edit many posts at once with Bulk action
Tick the checkbox on the posts you want to change (or select all), then click "Bulk action" and choose what to apply to every selected post:
Copy Step 2 caption — this applies the caption you created in Step 2 to every post (you can still customize each one).
Edit network settings — edit settings that are social network specific (for example, the location on Instagram posts or Privacy on Youtube).
Recycle — re-use posts by automatically sending them to the end of the queue after posting (you can set the posts to be recycled forever, until a certain date or a select number of times).
Delete — remove selected posts from the Composer.
TIP: Turn on Recycle for evergreen posts. Set it once, and each post goes back to the end of the queue after it publishes. Not sure whether to recycle or repeat? See: "Should I recycle or repeat my posts?"
🚀 How to send your posts to the Queue or a Bucket
This is Step 4: Create post. Choose whether the posts go to the bottom or the top of your Posting Plan's queue, then click "Add to Queue" (if you chose "None" in Step 1) or "Add to Bucket" (if you chose a Bucket):
That's it. Dozens of posts, scheduled in a few minutes. Your Posting Plan publishes them from here. To see them, open Posts > Planned (see How do I manage my planned posts?).
NOTE: Want specific posts to publish at specific times? Put the date and time in the spreadsheet's POSTING TIME column and pick profiles (not a Bucket) in Step 1. Here's more on queueing vs. scheduling.
🛠️ How to fix a bulk upload that didn't work
Did your upload come through wrong, or not at all? Don't worry. Almost every bulk problem has the same handful of causes:
What you see | Why | Fix |
Only the caption imported. First comment, TOBI background, or other fields are empty. | Rows or columns in the sheet were deleted or moved. | Download a fresh sample sheet, paste your content into it, and change nothing else. |
The upload counts your posts, then creates none. | Same cause as above. | Same fix. |
"Cannot determine post type!" | A MEDIA or LINK cell isn't a full URL, or the media URL doesn't end in a file type. | Use a direct link ending in .jpg, .png, .mp4, and so on. Google Drive and Dropbox share links don't work. Host the files in your Library instead. |
Posts fail with "missing or invalid image file". | The file was moved or deleted before the post published. | Keep your media online until every post has published. The Library is the easiest place. |
"Some posts were not created." after you click "Add to Bucket". | A row has a POSTING TIME and the destination is a Bucket. The downloaded failed-posts sheet says "Cannot create a scheduled post inside a bucket - please use the Queue instead." | Set the destination to profiles, or remove the dates and queue the posts. |
"Over your post limit" when you seem far below it. | The count is rows times profiles, and posts sitting in "Pending" or "No bucket" count too. | Delete old pending posts in Posts > Planned (list view), or upload to fewer profiles. Plan limits are in What are the differences between plans? |
Reels publish at first, then later ones fail with "Unable to fetch media from URL". | Your media host is blocking Facebook's crawler. | Whitelist facebookexternalhit and meta-externalagent on your host, or host the videos in your Library. |
TIP: For anything else, see How do I manage my failed posts?
🚫 What bulk upload can't do yet
A few things people ask for that the spreadsheet doesn't support today:
Export your existing posts to a spreadsheet for editing and re-upload.
Choose a Pinterest board per row. It's 1 board per upload, picked in the Composer.
Add a second comment.
Mark a post as AI-generated for Facebook.
Set a recycle interval or a repeat schedule from the sheet. Edit the posts afterwards instead.
TIP: Bulk upload works best when the rest of your setup is ready. See How do I create and schedule posts?, How do I categorize my posts? (Buckets), How do I set up my Posting Plan?, and How do I upload content to my Library?
